Push near Solid Crystal towards near Blaster until you've cleared a way for pushing the far Solid Crystal towards and in front of the far Blaster. The way out now clear, as long as you stay to the left of the Solid Crystals.

 

SQUIRE PHILLIP

In Chapter 2, outside the Temple of Dala, you can surprise Phillip doing something he'd rather not be surprised doing! You can ask him about Highcastle. [If you initiate the Grain Quest in Chapter 1, and return to Phillip's hangout North of LaMut, his GRAIN keyword will be turned on.]

THE GRAIN QUEST: Talk to Risa, the High Priestess of Dala. Her food stores are empty. If you can obtain, and bring back a Bag of Grain, she will reward you handsomely by raising your Defense Skill. If you choose one Character, his Defense skill will rise by 25 points. If you choose none, each Character will gain 10 points.

TIP: If DEFENSE ONLY is Selected, you will gain 37.5 Points for one Character, 15 Points for all three.

Note: Although the Grain Quest can be accepted in Chapter 1, it can only be finished in Chapters 2 and 3.

In order to solve the Quest, you will have to locate four of the five Halfgate sisters. In order to get a Bag of Grain, you need Leather Leggings. In order to get Leather Leggings, you need a Tuning Fork.

First, visit Larissa Halfgate (North of Dala). If you can open her Barn door, she will give you a Tuning Fork [4]. (There are other Tuning Forks available, most of which have a lot of useful charges. This one only has four charges, so you won't miss it much.)

Next, visit Gena and Andrea Halfgate (West of Wolfram). In exchange for the Tuning Fork they will give you Leather Leggings.

Finally, visit Sara Halfgate (South of Highcastle). She will give you a Bag of Grain in exchange for the Leather Leggings.
